The 16th century
WelcomHeritage Bassi Fort, 25 km from Chittorgarh is set
amidst the hills of the Vindhyachal ranges. The ornate
gates, domes, arches and corridors of the Palace recall
the grandeur of another era when valour, honour as well
as ostentation were understood precepts of royalty. The
fort has been painstakingly restored, maintaining the
integrity of the original structure, while it subtly
introduces the trappings of modern comfort.
5 km from the fort is the Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary with
its gentle slopes and large water bodies where panthers,
wild boars, antelopes and mongooses can be sighted. |

Historical Background |
WelcomHeritage Bassi Fort which glorifies the history of
Chundawat clan was built in the 16th Century by Thakur
Jaimal of Sisodia dynasty, cousin of Maharana Pratap,
the founder of Bassi principality. He was a great
warrior who fought many a gallant battles and has
numerous brilliant victories to his credit.
Six of the ancestors of Rawat Sahib Kesri Singhji, the
present head of Bassi, Chundawat family laid down their
lives defending Mewar and the famous Chittorgarh Fort.
Set picturesquely amid hills, the quiet luxury of the
Palace offers a retreat into an aesthetically beautiful
environment. Its towering gates, domes, arches,
corridors and Mahals takes one back to the royal
magnificence of the past and the age of chivalry.
The 16th Century home of the Mewar nobility, it has been
painstakingly restored preserving its old charm, decor
and grandeur with comfort and an ambience that will

Wake up to the sounds of humming birds and peacocks
descending from the Fort on the hill overlooking your
